asked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will grant full development area status to Edinburgh, Leith and Portobello.

We are giving urgent consideration to the measures needed to stimulate regional development and employment. In this context we shall be paying full regard to the case for

over the last 10 years, measured both in current values and at constant values; and how that output is divided between edible and non-edible products.

Mr. Moyle

The information is as follows:

upgrading Edinburgh, Leith and Portobello to development area status.
