HC Deb 20 March 1974 vol 870 cc108-9W
Mr. Hooley

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how much derelict land has been made good in the Yorkshire and Humberside Region since June 1970; and what is the estimated acreage of dereliction remaining in the region.

Mr. John Silkin

The amounts of derelict land reclaimed in the Yorkshire and Humberside Region in 1970, 1971 and 1972 were 856 acres, 477 acres and 743 acres respectively. Figures for 1973 are not yet available. At the time of the latest survey by local authorities, at the end of 1971, there were 10,544 acres of derelict land in the region regarded as justifying treatment.
