HC Deb 19 March 1974 vol 870 cc62-3W
32. Sir D. Walker-Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what action it is intended to take in respect of the recommendations of the Quirk Report on the speech therapy services.

Mrs. Castle

The speech therapy services in England will be unified under my Department and organised under the new area health authorities from 1st April this year as recommended in the report. The four Government Departments concerned will be discussing action on the remaining recommendations with professional and staff interests.
