§ Mr. John SilkinHighcliffe Castle is still listed as a building of special architectural or historic interest. Listed building consent must therefore be obtained before the building can be demolished or before alterations or extensions which will affect its character as a building of special architectural or historic interest can be carried out.
It is for the local planning authority to consider any application for planning permission.
