asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will now ratify the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

We shall be giving early attention to the question of ratification of both the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
