asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what was the total cost of the Sunningdale Conference.

The cost falling to my Department, including travelling expenses, hospitality, food, accommodation, communications and extra staff costs, was approximately £12,200. The cost of additional police services has been calculated at a figure of approximately £34,000.

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement on the proposed Sunningdale Agreement in view of the recent election results in Northern Ireland.

Her Majesty's Government intend to work together with the Northern Ireland Executive and the Government of the Republic of Ireland to give effect to the proposals in the communiqué signed after the conference at Sunningdale last December.
