HC Deb 18 March 1974 vol 870 c52W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether she is aware of the scheme of the Rhodesian Ministry of Health to introduce ward hostesses under the title of "Institutional domestic supervisors" for the domestic services of hospitals; and whether she will study the working of the scheme to see what lessons can be learnt for the National Health Service.

Dr. Owen

My Department is always interested in any proposals whereby nurses may be relieved of duties which do not require nursing skills, and has a study of such duties currently in hand. Any information the hon. Member would care to send to the Department will be welcome.
