§ 40. Mr. Whiteheadasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will arrange for his committee on energy to seek information about research into direct reduction steel making processes; and whether he will recommend further experiments to be carried out on behalf of his Department.
§ Mr. MeacherMy Advisory Council on Research and Development for Iron and Steel (ACORD) has for some time been discussing with BSC its work on the direct reduction steel process. BSC has already carried out trials on samples of all available directly reduced materials and is continuing to investigate some direct reduction processes.
