HC Deb 28 June 1974 vol 875 c550W
Mr. Anthony Grant

asked the Minister for the Civil Service what proposals he has for the future of Her Majesty's Stationery Office in the London borough of Harrow; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Robert Sheldon

Over the past three years Her Majesty's Stationery Office has installed modern equipment using new techniques at its printing works in Harrow, primarily for the production of telephone directories. Negotiations with the printing trade unions for the operation of equipment which is comparatively new to the industry have been protracted and are not yet concluded. Provided that current attempts to resolve outstanding issues are successful the production of telephone directories at the Harrow works should continue on the same scale as previously. There would also be future opportunity for increased output.
