Mr. Tyler

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will ask the various research councils to make an explicit London allowance for postgraduate student grants, where appropriate, on a comparable level to those provided for undergraduates.

Mr. Gerry Fowler

The question of a London allowance for postgraduate students is at present under consideration.

Mr. Tyler

asked the Seretary of State for Education and Science if he will list the comparative figures for an undergraduate student grant, at London University or a similar higher educational establishment, and for a postgraduate student grant at a similar establishment in London.
