HC Deb 28 June 1974 vol 875 c46W
Mr. Molloy

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she can now make a statement on the outcome of her recent discussions with the nursing staff on problems within the National Health Service.

Dr. Owen

I would refer my hon. Friend to the statement my right hon. Friend made about nurses and other ancillary staff during the debate on 23rd May.—[Vol. 874, c. 691.]

Mr. Tierney

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether she has long-term plans to increase the general National Health Service expenditure with a view to an overall improvement in the service.

Dr. Owen

I expect National Health Service expenditure to increase in real terms year by year, subject always to the nation's economic circumstances.
