HC Deb 28 June 1974 vol 875 c51W
Mr. Brewis

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many accidents have occurred on farms in the last five years when tractors have been driven by youths between the ages of 13 and 16 years; and how many casualties have been caused.

Mr. William Ross

During the years 1969 to 1973 one non-fatal accident was reported involving the driving of a tractor by a boy under 17. Four other instances of injury were reported involving 15-and 16-year-olds who had dismounted from tractors they had been driving. In each of these cases the driver was the only casualty. No such accidents have been reported in 1974.
