HC Deb 28 June 1974 vol 875 c3W
33. Mr. Edwin Wainwright

asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will give the prices paid for the brickwork companies which have recently been sold by the National Coal Board to private enterprise, and the dates when the transactions were concluded.

Mr. Eadie

The board received some £6.4 million from the purchasers of the three brick undertakings. This was for goodwill, fixed assets, stocks and stores, etc. The amount received for each individual undertaking is a matter of commercial confidence between the board and the purchaser. The transactions were completed at the end of November 1973.
