asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects that the improvements to the A38 in Northavon District will be completed.

Mr. Carmichael

We shall be inviting tenders for the main contract work shortly. Construction will take about two years to complete. In the meantime the large programme of statutory undertakers and accommodation works is well advanced.
