asked the Secretary of State for Defence what is the anticipated cost of proposed improvements to the Polaris missile.

Mr. Robin F. Cook

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he has any plans to equip British nuclear missiles with multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicles; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Newens

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what plans he has to replace the warheads in the Polaris missiles; and to what extent these will involve further nuclear tests.
