HC Deb 27 June 1974 vol 875 c515W
21. Mr. Frank Allaun

asked the Prime Minister if he will make a statement on his NATO summit talks in Brussels on 26th June.

The Prime Minister

I visited Brussels on 25th and 26th June with my right hon. Friend the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary. The main purpose of my visit was to attend a meeting of the North Atlantic Council and to sign on behalf of Her Majesty's Government the declaration reaffirming the aims and ideals of the North Atlantic Treaty which was adopted at the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the North Atlantic Alliance in Ottawa last week. My visit also provided a welcome opportunity for bilateral talks with a number of allied leaders.

I have arranged for copies of the Ottawa Declaration on Atlantic Relations and of the communiquéissued after the meeting of Foreign Ministers in Ottawa to be placed in the Library of the House.
