asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he will provide the Victoria and Albert Museum with a special grant to purchase the pair of dolls dating from 1690 known as "Lord and Lady Clapham".

Mr. Hugh Jenkins

The Victoria and Albert Museum hopes to raise the necessary funds by public appeal and has not asked for a special grant for this purpose.
