asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what steps he is taking to encourage the early establishment of an audit board for the European Community.

At its meeting on 4th June 1974 the Council of Ministers for the European Communities established guidelines for the creation of a Court of Auditors for the Communities to replace the present Audit Board.
