HC Deb 26 June 1974 vol 875 c465W
Mr. Ralph Howell

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the annual cost of collecting dog licences; and how much revenue is obtained from this source.

Mr. John Silkin

I have been asked to reply.

In 1972–73, the latest year for which figures are available, the cost of collecting fees for dog licences in England and Wales was£455,000. About 2.7 million licences were issued, producing a revenue of about£1.03 million.
