Mr. Pardoeasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what was the average annual growth in the 390W primary school population, and the average annual growth in capital expenditure per primary school child, in the periods 1964 to 1968, and 1969 to 1974, in Cornwall, and England and Wales, respectively.
§ Mr. ArmstrongAs regards the first part of the Question, between 1964 and 1968 in Cornwall 3.7 per cent. and in England and Wales 2.6 per cent. Between 1969 and 1973 corresponding figures were 3.9 per cent. and 1.9 per cent. Figures for 1974 are not yet available. The reply to the second part of the Question is complex and I am writing to the hon. Member.
