asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will arrange for the Inland Revenue to supply water authorities with a list of those rated properties which are not connected to mains sewerage, so that the latter can relieve such properties of charges for services which they do not receive.

Dr. Gilbert,

pursuant to his reply [OFFICIAL REPORT, 21st June], gave the following information:

I regret that this is not practicable. No separate lists are kept by valuation officers of properties not connected to mains sewerage and compiling such lists would involve disproportionate staff costs.
