§ Mr. David Mitchellasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) whether he can now say when he will make the announcement about the opening of Motorway M3 which he told the hon. Member for Basingstoke on 6th May would be made shortly;
(2) how many miles of the Motorway M3 are lying idle between Lightwater and Sunbury;
(3) whether the building of Motorway M3 is now complete, but may not open until he gives his authority;
(4) what is the value of public money invested in the completed but unopened section of the Motorway M3 between Lightwater and Sunbury; and on the basis of standard calculations and the cost of borrowing, how much this investment could be said to be costing the public purse.
