§ Mr. Moonmanasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what plans she has to improve the geriatric services.
§ Dr. OwenGuidance was issued in 1971 and 1972 concerning the organisation and development of hospital geriatric services and the minimum standards needed in relation to staffing and facilities in geriatric departments. A special allocation of £28 million was made to health authorities for the period 1972–73 to 1975–76 to promote an improvement in services for the elderly. I have asked health authorities to give priority to services for the elderly in their 1974–5 capital and revenue programmes.
