§ Mr. Hooleyasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will undertake a survey of assistance provided by Governments to their export trades and examine in what respects the United Kingdom system falls short of what is done elsewhere.
§ Mr. DeakinsNo. The British Overseas Trade Board, through its Task Force in 1972, examined the export promotion services of a number of Britain's more important competitor countries and concluded that none appeared to have arrangements as comprehensive as those of the United Kingdom. Nevertheless, the board is keeping the position under continual review in consultation with Her Majesty's Diplomatic posts overseas.
