§ Mr. CarmichaelThe average time taken to deal with applications for driving licences is six to seven working days. The driver and vehicle licensing centre is constantly reviewing and improving its procedures in order to reduce delays in the really difficult cases to which I referred in my Written Answer of 19th June to the hon. Member for Tynemouth (Mr. Trotter). Vehicle licences are not yet issued centrally.
