HC Deb 24 June 1974 vol 875 cc386-7W
Sir Anthony Royle

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what action he is taking to safeguard residents living under the glide path into London Airport, Heathrow, from noise caused by Concorde when it comes into service next year.

Mr. Clinton Davis

Like other aircraft landing at Heathrow, Concorde would be required to keep noise levels down as far as operational conditions and safety considerations allow in accordance with the noise abatement requirements published in the United Kingdom Air Pilot. The present estimate is that Concorde noise levels on approach to land would not exceed, and may be somewhat lower than, those of, for example, the Boeing 707.
