§ Mr. Edgeasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will seek powers to set a date by which all local authorities must fulfil their responsibilities under the Caravan Sites Act 1968.
§ Mr. OakesA statutory time limit is not practicable since the provision of accommodation will remain a continuing responsibility. But I will certainly bear in mind the desirability of target dates in our current review of the whole gipsy problem.
