§ Mr. Kilroy-Silkasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he is now in a position to make a statement on special development area status being accorded to Merseyside and of the other measure he intends to introduce to reduce the level of unemployment in the region.
§ Mr. HefferThe Government are still considering the question of SDA status for Merseyside and other possible measures that could be taken to reduce the high rate of unemployment in the area. A statement will be made as soon as possible.
