asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the difference between the grant which would have been received by Hampshire County Council in accordance with the regulations that prevailed on 28th February 1974, and the amount which Hampshire County Council will receive, following the subsequent decision taken by him.

The rate support grant payable to Hampshire County Council for 1974–75—£51.5 million, but subject to changes as a result of possible increase orders—was not affected by the cancellation of variable domestic relief.
