HC Deb 20 June 1974 vol 875 c206W
Mr. Michael Morris

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what additional annual revenue would be produced by an increase of £5 on road tax.

Mr. Dell

If the £5 increase applied to all vehicles other than tractors currently bearing duty at £5 and motor cycles, the additional yield from vehicle excise duty in 1974–75 would be £80 million.
