Mr. Snape

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he has considered the document sent to him by the Group of Sport-Supporting Pools, entitled "Submissions concerning the Report of the Inter-departmental Working Party on Lotteries" (Command Paper No. 5506); and if he will make a statement on his policy towards it.

resident in the United Kingdom, he will publish a further table in the OFFICIAL REPORT comparing the percentage amount of net income after tax of a person domiciled overseas who is employed by a concern resident outside the United Kingdom with the corresponding percentage amount if that person were a resident alien working in various other countries on the basis that the percentage of emoluments charged to United Kingdom tax was (a) 50 per cent. and (b) 75 per cent. of the total.

Mr. Joel Barnett

The information is shown in the table below.

Dr. Gilbert

The document deals mainly with matters that are the concern of my right hon. Friend the Home Secretary. I have, however, noted the representations about pool betting duty, and I am meeting a deputation from the Group of Sport-Supporting Pools on 27th June.
