Mr. Kenneth Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for a report from chief constables on the increase there has been in requests for policemen to attend at football grounds to deal with crowd control during the last three months, and in the arrangements which have been made to meet this demand.
§ Dr. SummerskillChief officers of police are well aware of the need to control crowds at football grounds, and no indication has reached us that they have found difficulty in meeting the requests made to them. My right hon. Friend does not think that special reports are needed.
