HC Deb 20 June 1974 vol 875 c245W
Mr. Alan Lee Williams

asked the Minister of Overseas Development what benefits for developing countries she estimates would occur should Great Britain withdraw from the European Community.

Mr. William Price

My right hon. Friend the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary has made it clear to the House that in the course of the renegotiations that are now taking place the United Kingdom will be seeking certain specific objectives as regards the developing countries. We could not anticipate the results of these renegotiations by trying to assess the balance of advantage at this stage.
