asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many officials in the Scottish Office are concerned with the level of unemployment in Scotland.

Mr. William Ross

I regard it as a prime objective of all Departments in the Scottish Office to contribute, in their respective fields, to promoting the economic development of Scotland, and thus to the reduction of unemployment.
