HC Deb 19 June 1974 vol 875 c149W
Mr. Rifkind

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his estimate of the number of public buildings in Scotland believed to be affected by the Scottish Development Department's recent call for buildings built with isolated roof beams made of pre-cast, pre-stressed high aluminium cement concrete, to be professionally examined for fault.

Mr. William Ross

I have no means of making such an estimate. No instances have been reported since the issue of the circular of 7th June. Inquiries made of manufacturers and suppliers suggest that high alumina cement was used only infrequently for pre-cast pre-stressed concrete beams in Scotland.
