§ Mr. FreesonI assume my hon. Friend is referring to payments to landlords or tenants of unfit houses, included in slum clearance orders, that have been well maintained. Under the present legislation the direction by the Secretary of State that such payments should be made is not dependent upon the landlord making a claim: either he or the tenant may claim.
