Mr. Jim Lester

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services in what proportion to the national average geriatric beds are provided per head of population in the area served by the Nottinghamshire Area Health Authority.

The number of geriatric beds available per 1,000 population over 65 in the Nottinghamshire AHA(T) at 31st December 1973 was 8.22. compared with the national average of 8.83. The figures are provisional pending validation of the 1973 statistics.
