HC Deb 18 June 1974 vol 875 c110W
62. Mrs. Joyce Butler

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what research is being undertaken into possible health hazards from colour television sets; and if he will make a statement.

Dr. Summerskill

In 1969 and 1970 a study of British and imported colour television sets by the Radiological Protection Service of the Medical Research Council showed that X-ray emissions were well within the stringent limits of the relevant British Standard. More recent tests, conducted by the British Electro-technical Approvals Board, have shown a similar result. There appears to be no need for further research at present.
