HC Deb 18 June 1974 vol 875 cc125-6W
Mr. Watt

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what is the average price charged for oil for fishing vessels at Hull and Grimsby, and the average price charged for the same fuel at Peterhead and Buckle; and what are the reasons for the differences in price.

Mr. Strang

The prices of oil at individual ports are commercial matters between the consumer and oil supplier. Differences in price can arise from such factors as the variations in distribution costs depending upon distance from the nearest refinery; methods of supply and the amounts and period of contracts.
