asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she has assessed the merits of the fissure sealant treatment for the protection of the teeth of young people now being tried out by the schools dental service in Hackney; and if she will make a statement.

No. The work at Hackney is not yet complete and the results will have to be assessed in relation to investigations going on elsewhere in the country into other aspects of the use of fissure sealants.
