HC Deb 14 June 1974 vol 874 cc650-1W
Mr. Steen

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will specify for each camp used by Ugandan Asians what costs of conversion were incurred; and what use is now being made of each.

Mr. Mason

The accommodation formerly occupied by the Ugandan Asians consisted of 14 Services camps, a DHSS sanatorium and part of a students' hostel. The conversion costs paid for by the Home Office incurred at the time of the emergency, together with the use now being made of the accommodation, is as follows:

new workshop and office accommodation for the RAF Marine Craft Unit at Falmouth; and what plans he has regarding transferring the unit in the foreseeable future.

Mr. John

The new workshop and office accommodation for No. 1102 Marine Craft Unit was opened on 31st May 1974. The total cost was £28,250. I have no plans to transfer the unit from Falmouth.
