§ Dr. Hampsonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is aware that the removal from the general rate of sewerage charges, and their collection by local authorities on an agency basis, has produced a situation detrimental to registered charities, since hitherto charities have qualified for mandatory and discretionary relief on the total rate demand including the sewerage element; and if he will take action to correct this situation.
