HC Deb 14 June 1974 vol 874 cc664-5W
Mr. Tiemey

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if the original decision that the East Birmingham Hospital should be administered by a joint committee of the Birmingham Area Health Authority (Teaching) and the Solihull Area Health Authority is to be fully implemented.

Dr. Owen

The future arrangements for the management of health services in the Birmingham and Solihull areas are under consideration by the West Midlands Regional Health Authority in the light of the views of the two area health authorities.

Mr. Tierney

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the outcome of a special meeting called by the West Midlands Regional Health Authority to deal with a complaint raised by the Secretary of Solihull Area Local Medical Committee about general hospital facilities in Solihull.

Dr. Owen

The special meeting of the West Midlands Regional Health Authority referred to by my hon. Friend was held to consider the future management arrangements for the overlapping health services in the Birmingham and Solihull areas. The particular complaint referred to was in fact received after the special meeting had been held.
