§ Dr. OwenDoctors who by moving into a shortage area add to its manpower can be paid an initial practice 669W allowance during the first few years to help them set up in practice. Where an area continues to be short of doctors for some time, all the doctors in the area receive a designated area allowance which is paid at a higher level in the more seriously affected areas.
