asked the Secretary of State for Energy what was the average output per manshift from the United Kingdom mining industry during the latest period of seven weeks for which figures are available; and what was the figure for the corresponding period of 1973.

Average output per manshift overall for National Coal Board mines for the seven weeks ending 1st June 1974 was 43.47 cwt. The figure for the corresponding period of 1973 was 46.62 cwt.
