§ Mr. Arnold Shawasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will introduce legislation to make the award of a maximum part-time contract to hospital consultants and specialists conditional upon keeping out-patient waiting days below 28 days.
§ Dr. OwenChanges in the consultants' contracts are being considered by the joint working party whose terms of reference my right hon. Friend announced in her reply to the hon. Member for East Leigh (Mr. Price) on 20th May—[Vol. 874, c.52-3]—and I have noted my hon. Friend's suggestion for linking contracts with waiting time.
