HC Deb 12 June 1974 vol 874 c583W
Mr. Bruce-Gardyne

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will define the considerations underlying the decision to suspend financial support for Harland and Wolff.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

There has been no such decision. Indeed, my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister told the House during the debate on 4th June—[Vol. 874, c. 1046.]—that the Government had confirmed the decision announced by the previous Government in December 1973 to provide further support to the company. I shall be making a further statement as soon as possible.
