Mr. MacCormick

asked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will ensure that proper notice is given to the people of Argyll in respect of flights by the Concorde.

Mr. Benn

The British Aircraft Corporation gives advance warning of Concorde test flights on the West Coast route to local broadcasting stations and certain other bodies.

Mr. Biffen

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what meetings and discussions have taken place between the manufacturers of Concorde, representatives of the Government and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in order to determine whether Concorde can conform to the maximum noise level restriction of 112 PNdB; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Benn

A series of detailed technical discussions is being held with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey covering the full range of operating procedures.
