asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is his policy towards proposing an extension of the rate rebate scheme to cover the domestic proportion of rates on mixed properties.

Section 13(1)(b) of the Local Government Act 1974 and Regulation 9(2) of the Rate Rebate Regulations 1974 already make persons occupying mixed premises eligible for a rate rebate in respect of the proportion of the rates attributable to the part of the premises used for residential purposes.
