HC Deb 11 June 1974 vol 874 cc523-4W
Mr. Leadbitter

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what proportion of total energy production would be attributable to nuclear power on the basis of the Central Electricity Generating Board's total recommendation for light water reactors being accepted and in production in the time scale suggested.

Mr. Eadie

If we can assume that the new stations are in service by 1990, the Central Electricity Generating Board's evidence to the Select Committee on Science and Technology (Energy Resources Sub-Committee), 18th-19th December 1973, page 44, shows that about 45 per cent, of Central Electricity Generating Board's energy output would be nuclear.
